HT's FLY PATTERNS
IBD Emerger
Materials
Hook:
Wide gape, Dry Fly, #16
Silk/Thread:
Grey or lilac silk
Body:
Dubbing: Natural wool
Hackle:
Iron blue cock hackle
Tail whisks:
Honey dun,
or light red cock hackle fibres
Tying Method
Whip silk down shank of hook toward bend, starting at 1/8 distance from eye.
Tie in whisks.
Dub the wool forwards to make a thick fluffy body. Stop at 1/4 distance from eye.
Tie in cock hackle, make 3-4 turns.
Tie off behind eye with whip finish. Clear varnish.
