I have been a veterinary surgeon working in companion animal practice in Devon, UK for over 30 years. In January 2001, I retired from veterinary work and set up an internet company promoting commercial websites, something which I had been doing as a hobby for the past couple of years. I also run a freshwater fishery consultancy called FishWatch, providing advice to fishery owners and angling clubs. I am also a member of the Institute of Fisheries Management and hold their Diploma.
My principal hobbies are mostly related to fishing, and in particular fly fishing for brown trout and grayling in small streams and rivers. I have an almost inexhaustive collection of fly fishing books, mostly second hand of the older variety . I also collect old items of fishing tackle, and tie trout flies.
I have been a member of the Crediton Fly Fishing Club for over 25 years, and in the late '80s I was fortunate enough to acquire the Glyndwr Fishery on the River Vyrnwy in Mid Wales. Much of what spare time I have left is now spent maintaining this and photographing the local flora and fauna.
